Huahine
Huahine
Huahine is a part of the Society Islands of French Polynesia. Considered as a whole, it is, after Tahiti, the second largest of the Society Islands, and the largest of the Leeward Islands. (If it is considered as two distinct islands, this distinction goes to Raiatea, to the southwest.) Huahine is actually two islands, Huahine Nui (Big Huahine) and Huahine Iti (Little Huahine), formerly joined only by a sandspit at low tide, the two islands are now connected by a small bridge. Both islands have four villages, each with its own chief.
